FraserburghMostly shifty beachbreak which can fire on its day. Good standard of local surfers who should be treated with respect! Severely cold in the deep winter months when all that new 6 mm fitted hood wetsuit technology pays off big time! The nearby coastline of Banff and Buckie can fire when the wind is in the east or south. Lots of spots going south towards Aberdeen.

Northeast-facing bay with two main spots. The Broch is a beachbreak which works as a left point on biggish swells from mid- to high-tide. Philorth, to the east, picks up the most swell and works under the same conditions. The best peak is the left hand point that breaks at the top of the beach away from the harbour and is appropriate for intermediates and above. Along the beach are numerous quality beach break peaks, which will entertain all levels of surfers.
